Sureway was awarded the earthworks contract for stages 1 and 2 of the Northeast Anthony Henday. This highway includes 27 km of 6 and 8 lane divided roadways, 9 interchanges, 2 road flyovers, 8 rail crossings, 2 bridges over the North Saskatchewan River, and earthworks for 46 bridge structures. Construction commenced in June 2012, with completion scheduled for October 1, 2016.
Sureway is performing the bulk of earthworks, grading, drainage, and all underground utilities relocation and construction. We are constructing outfall structures into the North Saskatchewan River for both Stage 1 (Manning Freeway to North Saskatchewan River) and Stage 2 (North Saskatchewan River to Yellowhead Highway). In total, we’ll complete 7,000,000 m3 of excavation, 6 km of drainage piping, and all utility protection and crossings.
