Relations Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sureway Construction Group Ltd. is a
multi-faceted organization which includes extensive mining reserves held under
the Yellowhead Aggregates and Sil Industrial Minerals corporate groups.  With over 45 years of experience, Sureway
Construction Group is a leader in the Western Canada’s construction and mining
industries and is seeking a full-time Stakeholder Relations Manager. Reporting
to the President of Sil Industrial Minerals, this position is responsible for
the various duties and responsibilities associated with building and
maintaining constructive working relationships with indigenous and
non-indigenous communities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1.   
Provide support to various corporate groups including Industrial Services,
Resources and Environment departments by providing input to
regulatory applications, stakeholder engagement and relationship management

2.   
Provide
support to the Business Development by engaging stakeholder and stakeholder
businesses to facilitate alliances and partnering opportunities

3.   
Provide
strategic advice and recommendations to senior management

4.   
Support
community investment initiatives

5.   
Use
a stakeholder database to track engagement information and keep detailed
engagement records for submission to support regulatory applications

6.   
Support
administration of engagement programs and economic development initiatives with
stakeholders

7.   
Collect
and assess feedback regarding community issues that could impact business
strategies and/or operations

8.   
Help
coordinate attendance at community events

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

· A
minimum of 5 years’ experience in community/public relations, communications,
working with/for indigenous communities, or related field

· Knowledge
of municipal, provincial and federal regulatory processes in Alberta, British
Columbia and Saskatchewan

· Ability
to build strong relationships with key personnel internally and externally

· Strong
understanding of community relations and stakeholder engagement

· Experience
and knowledge of the energy, midstream, mining/construction industry and its
stakeholders is an asset

· Experience
working with indigenous communities

· Consistency
and dependability in task completion

· Strong
communication and leadership skills

· Strong
analytical and technical writing skills

· Excellent
organizational skills

· Ability
to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment

EDUCATION

· A
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Social Science, Indigenous Studies or other
relevant field (stakeholder/community relations, Environment/Science or
Regulatory)
